Some advent calendars sit on a shelf. Dior La Malle des Rêves 2026 is a piece of furniture. Dior calls it a coiffeuse, a dressing table with the charm of a dollhouse. It opens out to a mirror and 24 drawers, each with a gold star for a handle, and at its heart is a gingerbread-style scene around the Junon gown from Dior’s 1949 haute couture collection. Only 170 are being made, and each one is numbered.
Behind the drawers is the house’s most private perfume wardrobe, La Collection Privée. There are six 100ml eaux de parfum, four Esprits de Parfum, three hair perfumes and Gris Dior for the bath. Then come the pieces you’d never expect in a calendar: a silk scarf, a pair of earrings, a snow globe and a gilded star for the top of the tree.

Does it pique our interest?
Very much, and the fragrance comes first. Six 100ml bottles from La Collection Privée amount to a whole perfume wardrobe behind a set of drawers, and the choice is a lovely sweep of the collection. Gris Dior is the soft, chypre-ish grey rose the house built its couture salons around. Bois Talisman is warm and woody. Jasmin des Anges is sunny and apricot-bright. Oud Ispahan is the deep rose-and-oud one for winter evenings. Rose Star and Dior Paradise complete the six.
The Esprits de Parfum and hair perfumes turn that wardrobe into a ritual. Gris Dior and Jasmin des Anges come back in both forms, and they’re joined by Ambre Nuit and Rouge Trafalgar as Esprits and by Oud Rosewood for the hair. Layering a scent from wrist to hair is one of the quiet pleasures of this collection, and the calendar is built for it.
Then there’s the sense of occasion. The Gris Dior hand and body lotion and liquid soap bring the scent into the bathroom. The Dior Délice candle is a limited edition, and it comes with its own wick trimmer and snuffer. The couture pieces feel like Dior’s own gift to the person opening them: a silk twill Mitzah scarf, earrings, a couture cap and a travel spray from La Collection Privée, eight tree ornaments, a gilded metal star and a snow globe to finish.
The dressing table stays long after December. With its mirror and drawers it’s made to become a real vanity, which is the kindest thing a luxury advent calendar at this level can do. Of the two Dior advent calendars this year, this is the one built to be handed down.
What we’d change
We’d love a little of Dior’s skincare in one of the drawers, perhaps a Prestige piece, to sit beside the Gris Dior body care and complete the vanity.
We’d also have loved one drawer to hold a scent made only for this calendar. The perfumes here come from La Collection Privée’s existing wardrobe. For a dressing table that only 170 people will own, a fragrance no one else can wear would make it unrepeatable.
