Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar 2026: £266 of Skincare for £60

Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar 2026 box with all 25 skincare and body products arranged in front

There is a particular December pleasure in opening a little door and finding something you will actually finish. Not a sachet. Not a 2ml vial that disappears in one distracted application on a Tuesday. A proper tube of something, the sort that ends up living by the bath and gets used until the cap sticks.

Holland & Barrett has built almost its entire calendar around that feeling. This is the calendar for the woman who has quietly decided that her skin would be happier with fewer, larger, more boring things. There is no eyeshadow palette in here. There is no perfume. What there is instead is a 300ml hair mask, a 250ml body lotion, two 150ml bottles of cleanser and toner, and a vitamin C serum you would be pleased to be given on its own. It is not glamorous. It is deeply, unfashionably useful, and we mean that as the compliment it is.

The numbers

The Holland & Barrett advent calendar 2026 is £60 and Holland & Barrett puts the contents at over £266: twenty-eight treats across twenty-five days, from brands including Weleda, Antipodes, Dr Organic, Cetaphil and Q+A.

What is unusual is the scale of the bottles. Holland & Barrett doesn’t publish a full-size count, so we aren’t putting a number on it, but the sizes speak for themselves. Weleda’s Skin Food Body Lotion arrives at 250ml. Faith In Nature’s Shea & Argan Hair Mask at 300ml. The Super Facialist salicylic acid toner and the Dr Organic probiotic cleanser at 150ml each. The serums come at 30ml, the body butters at 50ml, the UpCircle eye cream at 15ml — which is to say the sizes those things are sold in on the shelf. The genuinely small pieces are the exception rather than the rhythm.

Does it pique our interest?

It does, and for a reason we didn’t expect. The temptation at this price is to pad a calendar with own-brand filler and hope nobody looks closely. Holland & Barrett has done the opposite. The brands in here are the ones people walk into the shop for. Weleda appears twice, once with the Skin Food Super Serum and once with the body lotion. Antipodes brings its Glow Vitamin C Brightening Serum, a kakadu plum and bakuchiol thing that is the most covetable object behind any of the doors. UpCircle’s coffee-and-hyaluronic-acid eye cream is here at its usual size. Trilogy, Dr Organic, Q+A, Fushi, Faith In Nature — this is the H&B beauty aisle, boxed.

There is also a pleasing lack of theme-chasing. Nobody has tried to make this a K-beauty calendar or a clean beauty calendar or a Scandi wellness calendar. It is a broad sweep of skincare, body and hair, with a rosemary hair oil and a clay mask and a bar of lavender soap, and the confidence not to explain itself. The Purifide pimple patches and the refillable Fussy deodorant are the only nods to what is currently fashionable, and both earn their doors.

The Weleda Skin Food Super Serum is the one we would open first and the one we would miss if it weren’t there. Skin Food has been that brand’s cult object for decades, and the serum is the lighter, more wearable expression of it.

What we’d change

Two doors, if we were rearranging the drawers. The So Eco headband is a perfectly nice headband and it is still not a beauty product — in a calendar that has otherwise resisted filler, it reads as the one drawer that needed something in it. And the two Cetaphil pieces at 29ml each are the only moment where the box feels like it is counting rather than giving.

The larger point is one of expectation. This is not a beauty calendar in the way the department stores mean it. There is no makeup, no fragrance, nothing you would put on to go out. If you are hoping for a lipstick on the tenth, it isn’t coming. Go in wanting skincare, body and hair, and it does an extraordinary amount of work.

Who it’s perfect for

For the woman who runs out of body lotion and is genuinely pleased to find another one. For anyone building a routine rather than a collection. For a student or a teenager who would get far more out of this than out of three luxury samples.

And for the giftee who is impossible to buy for because she already owns every lipstick — this arrives with nothing to compete with, and everything in it gets used rather than admired.

Our Pique Verdict

Perfect for: The woman who finishes things, and would rather have a full tube than a luxury thimble

Best product: Weleda Skin Food Super Serum, 30ml — the lighter, more wearable expression of a cult object, and the door we’d open first

Biggest drawback: No makeup and no fragrance, so it’s a skincare and body calendar wearing a beauty label

Value for money: ★★★★★ (5/5)
