Some calendars are about what you will put on your face. This one is about what the house will smell like for months, which is a rather lovely thing to commit to. Twenty-five drawers in a cream townhouse, and behind them candles, votives, diffusers, room sprays, bath soaks, hand washes and two full bottles of eau de toilette. You do not wear this calendar. You live in it.
The White Company makes the same argument every December and it keeps working, because the pleasure it offers is precise: a votive lit at four o’clock when the light goes, a hand wash by the kitchen sink that makes washing up briefly civilised, a diffuser in the hall that greets people before you do.

The numbers
The White Company advent calendar 2026 is £195 and The White Company puts the contents at over £336. Seven of the twenty-five items are full size: two Signature Candles at 140g each, in Winter and Lime & Bay, a 250ml Sea Salt Body Lotion, a 250ml Seychelles Bath & Shower Gel, a 95ml Amalfi Lemon Room Spray, and two 30ml eaux de toilette in Santa Rosa and Flowers. The Signature Candles burn for approximately twenty-eight hours each and the votives for around eighteen, so there is a good deal of December evening in here.
The rest is scaled sensibly rather than meanly: hand creams, body lotions, bath soaks and hand washes at 50ml, mini diffusers at 50ml, mini home sprays at 15ml, votives at 70g. Two of the drawers hold a limited-edition Seychelles Shampoo and Conditioner, made for the calendar and not sold separately. The countdown runs to twenty-five rather than twenty-four, so there is a drawer for Christmas Day itself.
Does it pique our interest?
It does, and the reason is the candles. Two full-size Signature Candles is a real commitment, and Winter is the house scent — clove, cinnamon and orange, the smell most people would name if asked what Christmas smells like in a shop. Finding it as a proper candle rather than a votive is the best drawer in the box. Lime & Bay as the second is a clever piece of balance, because it is the one you will still be burning in February.
The two eaux de toilette are the other surprise. Santa Rosa and Flowers at 30ml each are actual bottles of perfume rather than the 10ml minis these calendars usually offer, and they sit oddly and pleasingly among all the home fragrance. The Amalfi Lemon Room Spray is full size too.
Then there is the spread. Sixteen different fragrances across the twenty-five drawers: Winter, Seychelles, Lime & Bay, Fir Tree, Fireside, Sea Salt, Pomegranate, Clementine & Juniper, Grapefruit & Mandarin, Amalfi Lemon, Fresh Pomelo, Flowers, Wild Mint, Santa Rosa, Spa Restore and Spa Sleep. Seasonal at the front, year-round at the back, and genuinely the best way to work out which White Company scent is yours.
What we’d change
Sixteen scents across twenty-five drawers means repeats, and they are not evenly spread. Seychelles turns up four times — as the shampoo, the conditioner, a votive and the full-size bath and shower gel — and Winter three times, as the candle, a mini diffuser and a mini home spray. If Seychelles is not your scent, that is four drawers doing very little for you, and there is no way to know in advance which way it will fall.
We would also quietly like the hand washes to be bigger. Sea Salt and Wild Mint both arrive at 50ml, which by a kitchen sink is a fortnight at best, and The White Company’s hand wash is one of the things people actually repurchase. A full-size one of those instead of a third 15ml room spray would have been the better trade.
And a third of the drawers hold something to spray into a room rather than something to use. Three mini home sprays, three mini diffusers and two votives is a lot of air, and by the middle of the month the house can end up wearing several scents at once. Opening them in an order that suits you, rather than in the order the drawers dictate, is the way to enjoy this one.
