Two of the twenty-four drawers in Penhaligon’s 2026 calendar hold 30ml bottles of Halfeti and Empressa — £110 each on Penhaligon’s own site, and proper bottles rather than the 2ml vials most fragrance calendars run on. Around them sit thirteen more scents, from the 9ml Portraits miniatures to Quercus and Endymion in cologne, plus four 65g candles and five body pieces. The box itself is built as a vintage travel trunk, all brass-look catches and drawers that pull rather than pop. It’s £430, and what separates it from the other fragrance calendars this year isn’t the door count — it’s that a fifth of the doors contain something you’d have bought anyway.
The numbers
The Penhaligon’s Advent Calendar 2026 is £430 for 24 products across 24 drawers. Penhaligon’s doesn’t publish a total value for the calendar, so there’s no official saving figure to quote — but the two 30ml eau de parfums are listed at £110 each on penhaligons.com, which puts £220 of confirmed retail value in two drawers alone.
The split is 15 fragrances, 5 body products and 4 home fragrance candles. The fragrance itself comes to roughly 172ml across those 15 items: two 30ml bottles, seven 10ml, three 9ml Portraits miniatures and three 5ml. Nine of the fifteen scents are eau de parfum, two are eau de cologne, one is eau de toilette, and three are the 9ml Portraits Collection format.
The calendar is on sale now rather than on waitlist or pre-order — it went live at the start of September and is in stock at the time of writing. There’s also a checkout code running: SCENTSTORY on orders over £150 adds two further 10ml fragrances and a Penhaligon’s pouch, with two 1.5ml samples selectable at checkout on top. That’s another 23ml of fragrance for nothing, though it’s a general site promotion rather than a calendar offer, so check it’s still live before you order.

Does it pique our interest?
The case for this calendar rests almost entirely on two drawers. Halfeti and Empressa at 30ml are not miniatures dressed up as generosity — 30ml is the smallest full bottle Penhaligon’s sells, the same one that sits on the shelf in the Covent Garden shop, and having two of them inside a £430 box changes the arithmetic in a way no amount of 2ml vials can. Halfeti in particular is the house at its most characteristic: grapefruit and spiced rose over leather and oud, the kind of scent that reads as expensive from across a room. Empressa is the warmer counterweight, blood orange and peach falling into rose, vanilla and patchouli.
What surprised us was how much of the rest we hadn’t met. The Manoeuvres of the Baroness — orange blossom, Chantilly cream and sandalwood, softly commanding — and Bold Blend, which sharpens peppermint and black pepper against clary sage and deep woods, were both new to us, and both the sort of thing you’d never pick off a shelf blind. That is what a house calendar is actually for. Sampling your way through fifteen scents from one perfumer at 10ml a time tells you something a multi-brand calendar can’t: what the house sounds like when it’s being playful (Vra Vra Vroom, all mandarin and apricot and osmanthus) versus when it’s being serious (The Cut, cool mint through cypress and fir).
The Portraits miniatures are the other pleasure here. The Tragedy of Lord George, The Coveted Duchess Rose and Changing Constance arrive at 9ml with the animal-head caps intact, and they’re the ones people pick up off a dressing table. Changing Constance — cardamom melting into salted caramel, tobacco and vanilla — is the one that kept getting reached for.
And the candles are not an afterthought. Four 65g Penhaligon’s candles is a genuine home fragrance collection in its own right: Halfeti’s smoky oud, Luna’s lemon and juniper, Maduro’s tobacco and leather, and Fireside Fir, which is the seasonal one and the only thing in the box that feels explicitly like December. At 65g they burn for an evening or two each rather than a month, but four of them staggered through Advent is exactly the right way to use them.
What we’d change
Three things kept nagging, none of them enough to change the recommendation.
Halfeti and Luna each turn up three times. Halfeti as a 30ml, a 5ml and a candle, plus both body products; Luna as a 10ml, a candle, a hand cream and two more body pieces. Between them those two scents account for eleven of the twenty-four drawers. It makes sense commercially — they’re the bestsellers — but Penhaligon’s portfolio is deep enough that a house calendar repeating itself this hard feels like a missed chance to show it off.
A fourth Portraits miniature would have been the easiest possible fix. Three is enough to introduce the collection and not quite enough to let you live in it, and at 9ml they’re the size that actually gets used rather than saved. Swapping one of the duplicated 5ml scents for another Portrait would have cost Penhaligon’s very little and added noticeably more variety.
The body products are the weak section. Five pieces at 30ml apiece — two washes, two lotions and a hand cream — is a sensible amount of body care to receive, but 30ml of body wash is a couple of showers. A single larger bottle in place of two small ones would have felt more like the rest of the box.
These are refinements rather than problems. Nothing here would have stopped us buying it.

Who it’s perfect for
This is a single-house calendar, and that’s the whole decision. If you already wear Penhaligon’s, or you’ve been circling the house and want to work out which of its scents is yours before committing £200 to a 100ml bottle, £430 buys you an unusually thorough answer — fifteen scents, two of them in bottles you’d have paid £110 each for, and a set of candles that carries the same signature into the room.
It’s the wrong calendar for someone who wants range across brands. There’s no skincare, no makeup, nothing to discover outside one perfumer’s vocabulary, and if Halfeti and Luna turn out not to be for you, eleven drawers lose a lot of their appeal. Anyone who wants fragrance without the single-house commitment — or without the £430 — would be better served by the Boots 12 Days of Scent Advent Calendar 2026 at £90, which spreads the same category across a dozen brands.

Our Pique Verdict
Perfect for: the Penhaligon’s devotee, and the fragrance lover who wants to learn a house properly rather than sample twelve of them lightly.
Best product: Halfeti Eau de Parfum, 30ml — £110 on its own, and the scent the whole box is built around.
Biggest drawback: Halfeti and Luna between them fill eleven of the twenty-four drawers.
Value for money: ★★★★½ (4.5/5)

FAQ
How much is the Penhaligon’s Advent Calendar 2026?
It’s £430 for 24 products across 24 drawers, direct from Penhaligon’s.
What’s inside the Penhaligon’s Advent Calendar 2026?
Fifteen fragrances, five body products and four 65g candles. The fragrances run from two 30ml eau de parfums (Halfeti and Empressa) down through seven 10ml scents, three 9ml Portraits Collection miniatures and three 5ml eau de parfums — roughly 172ml of fragrance in total.
Are the fragrances in the Penhaligon’s advent calendar full size?
Two of them are. Halfeti and Empressa arrive at 30ml, which is the smallest full bottle Penhaligon’s sells and retails at £110 each. The remaining thirteen fragrances are miniatures at 10ml, 9ml or 5ml.
Is the Penhaligons advent calendar worth it?
That depends on whether you’d wear the two 30ml bottles, which between them account for £220 of confirmed retail value out of the £430 ticket. If Halfeti and Empressa are scents you’d buy anyway, the remaining 22 products — thirteen more fragrances, four candles and five body pieces — sit on top of that. If they’re not, the maths is much less persuasive.
Is there a discount code for the Penhaligon’s advent calendar?
At the time of writing, Penhaligon’s is running SCENTSTORY as a site-wide code on orders over £150, which adds two 10ml fragrances and a pouch. It isn’t calendar-specific and Penhaligon’s can withdraw it at any time, so check before ordering.
When did the Penhaligon’s Advent Calendar 2026 go on sale?
It launched at the start of September 2026 and is on general sale now — there’s no waitlist or pre-order stage.
