More than a century after Elizabeth Arden opened the red door of her Fifth Avenue salon, the house has finally made an advent calendar. The Elizabeth Arden Advent Calendar 2026, which the brand calls the 12 Days of Elizabeth Arden Beauty, is a pink octagon hung from a red ribbon and printed with baubles. It has twelve doors, and behind them is a short, well-chosen tour of the house.
Elizabeth Arden has filled it with the names it’s known for. There’s the Eight Hour Cream that has lived in handbags for generations, a pair of PREVAGE serums, two kinds of its ceramide capsules, and a bottle of White Tea. A little makeup sits alongside: a mascara, a primer and a lip primer. Elizabeth Arden says five of the twelve are full size.
It’s a gentle, unfussy countdown: twelve days rather than twenty-four, and an ornament shape pretty enough to hang on the tree once the doors are open.

What piques our interest
The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is the reason many people will open this box, and it earns its place. The 15ml tube is the multitasking balm Elizabeth Arden describes as soothing, protecting and hydrating “from head to toe”, and it’s the one thing in the calendar that seems to belong to everyone: dry cuticles, wind-chapped cheeks, a brow that won’t sit flat. Next to it is the full-size Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick with SPF 15, which slips into a coat pocket for the whole of winter.
The capsules feel like the house’s present-day side. There are fourteen of the new Advanced Gold Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum, single-dose twists of oil serum that Elizabeth Arden calls “longevity in a capsule”, and fourteen of the Retinol + HPR Ceramide Capsules alongside them. Each one is a little ritual: twist, squeeze, smooth over and done. Fourteen of each is a fortnight’s trial, which is long enough to see whether they suit you. The Retinol + HPR Ceramide Rapid Skin Renewing Water Cream follows them, in a 15ml size.
Then there’s PREVAGE, Elizabeth Arden’s serious skincare line: the Anti-Ageing Daily Serum 2.0 and the Anti-Ageing Eye Serum 2.0, 5ml each. The eye serum comes with a cooling applicator for patting under tired eyes on the darker mornings.
The makeup is the practical sort. Grand Entrance Mascara, full size in Stunning Black, has a push-up tip brush made for lift and curl. The Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer arrives in its full 30ml, and so does the Advanced Lip-Fix Cream, a lip primer that keeps lipstick inside the line. These are the kind of products that end up used every day rather than saved for best.
To close the countdown there’s White Tea, the fragrance Elizabeth Arden pairs here with its own hand cream. You get a 10ml spray of the eau de toilette and a full 30ml tube of White Tea Pure Indulgence Hand Cream, and the brand suggests wearing the cream first and the scent over it. It’s a soft, clean pairing, and it makes the last doors feel like a small treat to yourself rather than another step in a routine.

What we’d change
We’d have loved the Eight Hour Cream in its full-size tube. It’s the house’s most famous product and the one that gives this calendar its character, so a 15ml mini feels a little shy for a first-ever edition.
The makeup leans on prep: one mascara, a face primer and a lip primer. We’d happily have swapped one of them for a lipstick from Elizabeth Arden’s own colour range, so the calendar had a little more of the house’s glamour.
Two of the skincare doors are retinol-led, the Retinol + HPR capsules and the matching Water Cream. Anyone new to retinol, or with skin that tends to protest in winter, may want to start those slowly rather than all at once.

Who it’s perfect for
This is one for anyone who grew up with a tube of Eight Hour Cream somewhere in the house and would like to see what else Elizabeth Arden does now. It suits a skincare-first person who likes trying a serum for a couple of weeks before committing, and it’s a natural gift for a mother, an aunt or a friend who has always trusted the brand.
Twelve doors make it a lighter commitment than a 24-day calendar. You could start it on 13 December, or let the doors run through the first twelve days of the month and keep the rest of December free.
It’s less of a fit if you’re mostly after colour makeup, since skincare fills seven of the twelve doors.
It’s one of our picks in The Best Beauty Advent Calendars Under £100 in 2026, if you’d like to see it alongside the other countdowns at this price.
Our Pique Verdict
Perfect for: the Eight Hour Cream loyalist ready for a wider look at Elizabeth Arden, from ceramide capsules to PREVAGE
Best product: Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer – 30ml
Biggest drawback: the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is a 15ml mini, and there’s no lip colour
Value for money: ★★★★ (4/5)
