Starting a skincare routine can feel like walking into a room where everyone else already knows the words. Vitamin C in the morning or the evening? Which retinoid? How much SPF is enough? The Space NK Skincare Starter Kit 2026 takes the guesswork out, with six products that between them cover cleansing, brightening, exfoliating, protecting and a first gentle step into vitamin A.
It’s £30, and Space NK says the contents are worth over £80. The brands are what make it special at this price: Medik8, Ultra Violette, Skin Rocks, Caudalie, Dr Dennis Gross and BYOMA, many of them names people usually meet further up the price ladder. It’s a lovely first skincare gift, and a gentle refresh for anyone whose routine has drifted.

The numbers
The Skincare Starter Kit is £30, and Space NK says the contents are worth over £80. There are six products from six brands: BYOMA, Medik8, Ultra Violette, Dr Dennis Gross, Caudalie and Skin Rocks. Space NK doesn’t make a full-size claim for the kit; its page lists the sizes, from an 8ml Medik8 serum to a 60ml BYOMA cleanser, plus a three-treatment pack of Dr Dennis Gross peels. It’s a Space NK own-brand edit, sold at Space NK.
What piques our interest
Skin Rocks Retinoid 1 Vitamin A Face Serum is the quiet star. Space NK calls it “beginner-friendly retinol”, and a 10ml bottle is exactly the right amount to find out how your skin likes vitamin A without committing to a full routine overhaul. Medik8 C-Tetra Lipid Vitamin C Radiance Serum brings the morning glow, so both halves of the day have a treatment step.
Sun protection gets two chances to shine. Ultra Violette Fave Fluid SPF50+ is a lightweight daily sunscreen, and the Caudalie Invisible High Protection Stick SPF50 slips into a bag for top-ups over make-up. BYOMA Creamy Jelly Cleanser at 60ml makes the first step soft and simple, while the Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel pads give you three at-home exfoliating treatments to try.
It reads like a routine someone thoughtful has written out for you on a card, and that’s very much the point.

What we’d change
We’d have loved a moisturiser. For a kit built to take you through a routine “from the ground up”, as Space NK puts it, a simple cream would complete the picture.
A retinoid and an exfoliating peel in the same starter kit is a lot of activity for brand-new skin. We’d introduce them slowly, on different evenings, and let the cleanser and SPF do the everyday work at first.
