Behind one of the twelve doors is a 10ml Boy Smells Woodphoria travel spray — a creamy fig and sandalwood eau de parfum that Anthropologie sells on its own site for £32, in a calendar that costs £58. That is the sort of thing that usually happens in a box three times this price. The rest is a proper spread of small beauty: a Manucurist nail treatment, a Freck freckle pen, MineTan glow drops, a self-heating Popmask eye mask, L’Occitane hand cream. It is the little sister to Anthropologie’s 24-door calendar, and it has kept the personality while losing the price tag.

The numbers
The Anthropologie 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar 2026 is £58, and Anthropologie states the contents are worth over £160. There are thirteen products behind twelve doors, and the retailer describes them as premium samples rather than full sizes — it publishes no full-size count, so we aren’t quoting one. The line-up covers makeup and nails, skincare, hair, body, one wellness sachet and one fragrance, with names including Boy Smells, L’Occitane, Manucurist, Patchology, Freck Beauty, Popmask, Dr.PAWPAW, MineTan, HAAN, UKLash, Mermade Hair, Wonderskin and TRIP. It is exclusive to Anthropologie, it is on sale now, and the box itself is illustrated by Lovers For Life, the studio behind this year’s 24-door calendar too.

Does it pique our interest?
It does, and the fragrance is the reason. Boy Smells is not a brand that turns up in £58 calendars. Woodphoria is a warm woody floral — coconut and creamy fig up top, airy jasmine through the middle, sandalwood underneath — and at 10ml it is a travel spray you would genuinely carry, not a 1.5ml vial you use twice and lose. Anthropologie sells the same spray for £32. Whatever else is in the box, that door is doing a lot of the work.
What we didn’t expect was how playful the rest of it is. A freckle pen is not a sensible inclusion, and that is exactly why it belongs here — it is the kind of thing you would never buy for yourself and will absolutely try on a Sunday afternoon. The same goes for the self-heating eye masks, the no-crease clips, the eyelash curler and the glow drops. This is a calendar that assumes you want to play with your face rather than repair it, and it has chosen brands that back that up.
There is also some quiet competence underneath the fun. Manucurist’s Active Bright is a real nail treatment from a brand people seek out, not a novelty polish. Patchology and Wonderskin are both proper lip treatments. L’Occitane’s Néroli Orchidée hand cream is a recognisable, giftable object in its own right. The box is small, but nothing in it feels like it was bought by the pallet.
And it lands at a price that makes it an easy yes. A great many beauty calendars this year start at three figures, which puts them firmly in the category of a considered purchase. This one sits comfortably as a present you buy alongside something else, or as the first beauty calendar you ever try, and it still has a niche fragrance in it.
What we’d change
Small things, and none of them the fragrance.
The TRIP electrolyte sachet is the one door we’d swap. A single-serve wellness sachet is a fine thing to find in a goody bag; it is a thin thing to find on a December morning when the door before it held a perfume. In a twelve-door box every drawer has to carry itself, and this one doesn’t quite.
The line-up also leans heavily on lips and hands. Three of the thirteen products are lip treatments — the Wonderskin serum oil, the Patchology gloss-to-balm and the Dr.PAWPAW balm — and two more are for hands, the HAAN cleanser and the L’Occitane cream. Five of thirteen aimed at two small areas is a lot of overlap in a calendar that is otherwise so varied, and one of them could have been an eye or a cheek product instead.
The last one is a question of balance rather than a fault. Woodphoria is so clearly the centrepiece that the box rearranges itself around your reaction to it. Love it, and this is one of the best-judged small calendars of the year. Find it too sweet or too woody, and you are left with a nice assortment of samples rather than a headline. Worth a sniff first if you can.

Who it’s perfect for
For a first beauty calendar — a teenager, a student, a sister who has never had one and would rather have thirteen things to try than one thing to treasure. For the gift-buyer with a £60 ceiling who doesn’t want it to look like a £60 gift, which is precisely what the Boy Smells spray solves.
It is less right for someone building a routine. There is no serum, no moisturiser, nothing that would replace a step in your bathroom cabinet. If that is what you want for around this money, the Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar 2026 at £60 is the one — full-size tubes, no novelty. And if you like Anthropologie’s taste but want more of it, the 24-door version has the same illustrated charm at a bigger scale.
