Harrods has built this one around hair first and body second, which makes it a genuinely different proposition from its big beauty calendar. Twelve days, eighteen products, and a line-up that reads like a haircare shelf with a gourmand fragrance drawer attached. At £99 it is also the cheapest way into a Harrods advent calendar this year.
The numbers
The calendar is £99 and holds 18 products across 12 days, so several days open with more than one item. Nine of the 18 are in their standard retail sizes, including the £41 Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 150ml, the £34 Chāmpo Pitta Growth Serum 30ml and the £48 Sol de Janeiro Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream 240ml — three products whose combined retail price sits above the cost of the calendar itself.
The spread is hair-led: seven haircare products plus a Slip silk scrunchie duo, three fragrance pieces, two bath and body products, and four that sit in skincare and lips. Brands run from salon haircare (Kérastase, Philip Kingsley, Color Wow, Beauty Works) to the current gourmand favourites (Sol de Janeiro, Kayali), with Dermalogica, STARSKIN, RESTORED, Kylie Skin, REHAB. and Chāmpo filling in.

Does it pique our interest?
The haircare is the reason to buy this. A full-size Elasticizer is the kind of product people repurchase for years rather than trial, and putting it alongside a full-size Pitta Growth Serum means two of the calendar’s most expensive items are both doing serious work rather than sitting there as a name on the box. Add the Kérastase Première pre-shampoo and shampoo pairing — designed to be used together, which is why including both matters — plus Color Wow’s overnight repair treatment and Beauty Works’ volume spray, and you have something closer to a considered routine than a sampler.
The fragrance drawer is unashamedly of the moment. Two 10ml Kayali eaux de parfum, Vanilla 28 and Yum Pistachio Gelato 33, cover the two directions that brand is best known for: the warm brown-sugar vanilla and the dessert-pistachio. The Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 91 mist and the Rosa Charmosa Dewy Cream are scented to layer with each other, so the body and fragrance sections talk to one another instead of competing. If sweet gourmands aren’t your thing, this is the part of the calendar that will do the least for you — but it is coherent rather than scattered.
There is also real thought in the sizes. The REHAB. What ties it together is that it doesn’t feel like an offcut of the main Harrods beauty calendar. It has its own brief, it mostly sticks to it, and at £99 it is the entry point to the Harrods calendar range rather than a compromise version of it.
What we’d change
Three things are worth knowing before you buy:
The body half of “hair and body” is thin. Only the REHAB. shower milk and the Sol de Janeiro cream are true bodycare, which leaves the balance tilted heavily towards hair. A body scrub, a hand treatment or a second bath product would have made the title an honest description rather than a generous one.
Four products drift from the brief. The Dermalogica cleanser, the RESTORED pimple patches, the STARSKIN gold mask and the Kylie Skin lip butter are all perfectly good inclusions, but they belong to a general beauty calendar rather than a hair and body one. We’d happily trade two of them for stronger bodycare.
And then the £1 problem. Harrods offers free UK delivery over £100, and this calendar is priced at £99, so standard delivery adds £5.95 unless you add something else to your basket or collect in store. It is a small thing that feels avoidable at this price point.
None of that is a reason not to buy it — they are refinements to a calendar that already knows what it is.

It is less right for you if you read “hair and body” and pictured an even split, or if you want a bath-led pampering calendar to work through slowly in December.
