There is a full-size Kat Burki Amino Protein Mask in here, a 30ml Royal Fern PN Boosting Serum, and a 30ml Melumé Power Peptide Micro Emulsion — three products that on their own would be a considered purchase, let alone an impulse one. Around them sit Augustinus Bader, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Chantecaille, Omorovicza, Westman Atelier, Penhaligon’s and Trudon, packed into a burgundy beauty case with gold lip-shaped zips rather than a cardboard box with doors. Niche Beauty has put 27 products inside it, 17 of them full size, and states the lot is worth £1,850. It costs £450, and it is the least interchangeable calendar we have looked at this year — not because it is the biggest, but because so much of what is in it hasn’t turned up in everyone else’s.
The numbers
The Niche Beauty Luxury Advent Calendar 2026 is £450. Inside are 27 products presented in 25 satin pouches rather than behind numbered doors, and Niche Beauty states 17 of them are full size, with the remaining items in travel and discovery sizes. The retailer’s stated total value is £1,850.
The spread is skincare-heavy by some distance: 14 skincare products, 4 fragrance and candle items, 4 hair and body products across three entries, 3 makeup products, and 2 tools. The case itself is a reusable piece — 26.5 × 15 × 23.5cm, with an interior mirror. It is available to order now rather than on waitlist or pre-order.
Does it pique our interest?
The word luxury gets attached to a lot of calendars that are really premium high-street, and this one earns it in a way most don’t. Chantecaille, Augustinus Bader, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Omorovicza, Trudon, Penhaligon’s, Matière Première and Westman Atelier is not a line-up assembled by padding out one strong name with fillers — it is a consistent level held across every category in the case.
The full-size count is what makes that stick. At £450 a calendar has to feel generous the moment it is open, and 17 full-size products is a very different proposition from a case of prestige samples. The Omorovicza Cleansing Foam at 150ml, the myBlend Universal Nourishing Oil at 150ml, the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Face Crème Riche at 50ml and the Kat Burki mask at 60ml are all products you will still be using in spring, not treatments you will have finished by Boxing Day.
The genuine pleasure here, though, is the discovery. Auteur, Melumé Skinscience, Dr. Levy Switzerland, Prof. Dr. Steinkraus, Royal Fern, Susanne Kaufmann, 27 87, La Bonne Brosse — these are not the names that have appeared in four other calendars this season. If you have been opening beauty calendars for a few years and have reached the point of recognising every brand before you have opened the box, this one will not do that to you.
What ties it together is that the selection reads as though someone chose it rather than negotiated it. The Trudon Gabriel candle, the Penhaligon’s eight-scent library, the La Bonne Brosse comb in cherry red acetate and the SUI AVA lip-shaped hair clip are the sort of small, specific inclusions that make a case feel curated rather than filled.
What we’d change
We have fewer complaints about the contents of this one than almost anything else we’ve covered — the reservations are about who can realistically buy it and how the weight is distributed, not about the quality of what’s inside.
£450 is a very large upfront spend. Even with a stated value of £1,850 behind it, this sits well beyond normal premium-calendar territory, and that narrows the audience sharply. It is a calendar you buy deliberately, most likely as a main gift or a considered treat to yourself, not one you add to a basket in early October.
The skincare weighting is the other thing to be clear-eyed about. There are excellent makeup inclusions — the Chantecaille Luminescent Eye Shade and the Westman Atelier lip liner in particular — but three makeup products out of 27 means the case won’t feel equally generous to everyone. If skincare is not where you want your money going, a lot of this calendar’s value simply isn’t aimed at you.
And we’d like one more substantial fragrance. The fragrance selection is genuinely sophisticated — the 27 87 Genetic Bliss, the Matière Première Vanilla Powder, the Penhaligon’s library — but every one of them is a travel or discovery size. At this price we would happily trade something elsewhere for a single 30–50ml bottle. These are refinements to an already strong case rather than problems with it.

Who it’s perfect for
This is for the skincare buyer who already knows what an Augustinus Bader cream or a Dr. Barbara Sturm serum feels like and wants to spend December meeting the next tier of brands — Royal Fern, Melumé, Dr. Levy, Prof. Dr. Steinkraus. It also suits anyone who has grown a little tired of the calendar circuit: the overlap with everything else on the market this year is unusually low, and the case it arrives in is a keeper rather than recycling.
It is not the one for a makeup-led buyer, and it is not the one if £450 in a single purchase is a stretch — there is no version of this calendar that makes sense as a casual buy. If it’s fragrance you’re after at a luxury level, the Diptyque Advent Calendar 2026 covers that ground properly with 25 scented pieces, and if you’re shopping in Ireland or Northern Ireland and want a department-store luxury case with a full-size fragrance as the centrepiece, the Brown Thomas Beauty Advent Calendar 2026 is the closer fit.
There is also a second Niche Beauty calendar this year. The Classic Advent Calendar 2026 is £330 and takes the wider view — 26 products spread evenly across makeup, skincare, hair, body and fragrance, with 13 full sizes including Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 and a Caudalie Vinoperfect serum. It keeps Melumé, Dr. Levy, U Beauty, Westman Atelier and Oribe in the box. If the £450 is giving you pause, or you would rather open a mascara one morning and a perfume the next, read our Niche Beauty Classic Advent Calendar 2026 review before you decide.
Our Pique Verdict
Perfect for: The committed skincare buyer who wants brands they haven’t already met four times this season — if you want breadth rather than depth, see the Classic.
Best product: Royal Fern PN Boosting Serum, 30ml — full size, and the single most interesting thing in the case.
Biggest drawback: £450 is a serious upfront spend, and with three makeup items out of 27 it won’t land the same way for everyone.
Value for money: ★★★★☆ (4 / 5)
