Rituals has spent the best part of twenty-five years putting a feeling into a bottle — Sakura’s rice milk and cherry blossom, Karma’s holy lotus and white tea — and the Classic Advent Calendar gives you most of that back catalogue in miniature, one small door at a time. This year it comes as a pop-up townhouse. You fold it out once, it stands on the sideboard for the whole of December, and every morning there is something behind a door that smells of somewhere else: a body oil, a bath oil, a scrub, a mist, a little candle for the evening.
It is the calendar for anyone who has a favourite Rituals collection and has always wondered about the others.

The numbers
The Rituals Classic Advent Calendar 2026 is £99, and Rituals states its worth at £187.10. There are 24 doors, and Rituals’ own contents list runs to 25 items once you count the two small accessories, a spoon and a scrub glove. Two of the products are full size; the rest are travel minis, with the brand describing a scent journey that moves “from cosy spice to clean floral and bright citrus”. The mix is body care, bath and shower, a hair duo, two hair and body mists, two small face products and four mini candles from the Private Collection and the Soulful Collection. It is on sale now at rituals.com and in Rituals stores, with free delivery on orders over £35.
Does it pique our interest?

What we like most is how wide the net is cast. Sakura, Yozakura, Karma, Jing, Ayurveda, Hammam, Uukumwe and Rituals Homme all make an appearance, so this works as a proper tour of the brand rather than a showcase for one range. If you are a Sakura person who has never tried Jing, December is going to introduce you.
Several collections arrive in little clusters, too, which means a scent can build into a small routine rather than popping up once and vanishing. Karma brings an Overnight Body Mask, a Hair & Body Mist and the Mild Body Scrub Paste. Jing brings its Shower Oil, the Night Hand & Foot Mask and the anti-perspirant cream. Sakura shows up as a Super Dry Body Oil, a Body Cream and a mist. Open them in the order the calendar decides and you end up with a sort of rolling wardrobe of scent across the month.
The body oils are the party-season pick. The Sakura Super Dry Body Oil sinks in fast enough to use before getting dressed, and the Yozakura Shimmering Body Oil is the one for collarbones and shoulders on a night out, catching the light under the Christmas-party lighting in exactly the way you want it to.
And then there are the candles. Four minis — Mystic Cedar and Velvet Oudh from the Private Collection, Love and Gratitude from the Soulful Collection — are the doors that carry the calendar out of the bathroom and into the rest of the house. A 25g candle is a few evenings of cedar and oud on a cold week, and that is precisely what a calendar ought to hand you in December.
The townhouse itself earns its place too. It is built to stand as a display, so there is no daily rebuilding, and it looks a great deal more like Christmas than a flat box on a shelf.
What we’d change
Two small nudges, both about how the doors are used.
A handful of them go on the practical rather than the festive. A spoon, a scrub glove and a 48-hour anti-perspirant cream all have a job to do, and the glove in particular is a nice partner for the Hammam scrub bar, but on a cold December morning we would rather open a door and find a treat than a tool. One of those swapped for a mini from Rituals’ fragrance range would lift the whole run.
We would also love one of the two full-size stars to be a candle. The candles are the part of this calendar that makes a room feel like Christmas, and a full-size Private Collection candle would give the townhouse a finale worth waiting for.

Who it’s perfect for
This is a gift for the Rituals regular who has settled into one collection and would enjoy being gently led into the rest. It suits a mum, a sister or a friend whose idea of a good evening involves a bath and a candle, and it makes a warm first-home present thanks to those four candles. At under £100 it also sits comfortably as a main gift without tipping into extravagance.
If you would like the countdown to reach further into the house — a room fragrance, a reed diffuser, a hand wash for the sink — and more of the products to be full size, the Rituals Premium Advent Calendar 2026 is the same idea taken a stop further, aboard a keepsake train rather than a townhouse.
Our Pique Verdict
Perfect for: Bath-and-body lovers who want a tour of the whole Rituals range for under £100
Best product: The Ritual of Jing Night Hand & Foot Mask, 70ml — a proper overnight treatment for hands that have spent December in the cold
Biggest drawback: A few doors go on the practical — a spoon, a scrub glove and an anti-perspirant — where a treat could sit
Value for money: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
