The YSL advent calendar 2026 has dressed for an evening out. YSL calls it the Holiday Show, and the box plays its part: an ultra-glossy burgundy jewellery box with an oversized gold Cassandre on the lid and two drawers of gold-and-white doors beneath. It’s the kind of box that stays on the dressing table long after the last door is open.
Inside are 24 doors of YSL Beauty and nothing else. Lip colour takes the lead, as you’d hope from the house of Rouge Pur Couture, with a Couture Mini Clutch palette, a run of Or Rouge and Pure Shots skincare, and six fragrances from Libre to Muse. Five of them are full size, by YSL’s count.
This is YSL Beauty’s only advent calendar this year, and it sits firmly in luxury advent calendar territory, alongside the grand single-brand boxes from the Paris houses. What sets the YSL Beauty advent calendar apart is its focus: this is a makeup house’s calendar first, with fragrance and skincare playing supporting roles.
So is it worth £345? That depends on how much of your dressing table is already YSL, and we’ll come to that.

Does it pique our interest?
The lip line-up is the heart of this calendar, and it’s where YSL is at its most generous. Four of the five full sizes are for your lips or eyes: the Loveshine lipstick in 214 Wet Guava, the Loveshine Candy Glaze in 44 Nude Lavallière and the Lovenude Lip Blusher in 07 Illicit Nude. Add the mini Rouge Pur Couture in Rouge Muse and the Candy Glow balm in 1B Pink Sunrise, and you have a little lip wardrobe for every mood of the season, from a glossy balm to a statement lip.
The piece we’d open first is the Couture Mini Clutch in 720 Captivating Dunes. It’s a full-size palette in a compact that is as pretty in a handbag as it is on a dressing table, and an easy way to wear YSL every day, from a quiet morning to a Christmas party. It’s the one we’d expect to still be using in March.
Then there’s the fragrance, which reads like a tour of the YSL counter. Libre is here twice, as the Eau de Parfum and as the juicier Libre Berry Crush, alongside Black Opium, MYSLF and Y. The quiet surprise is Muse from Le Vestiaire des Parfums, YSL’s couture collection, with incense, iris and an inky, ambery base. It’s a lovely way to meet a scent you might not have picked up otherwise. For anyone who has never quite settled on a YSL signature, this is a gentle way to find it.
The skincare leans luxurious. Or Rouge, YSL’s prestige skincare range, arrives as a serum, a lotion and La Crème Essentielle, and Pure Shots brings its Night Reboot Serum and Eye Reboot Cream. None of these are full size, but they’re generous enough to show you how each one sits on your skin before you commit.
The Libre Perfumed Body Balm rounds it off: a full 50ml of the orange blossom and lavender of Libre in a rich balm. It’s a lovely way to wear the fragrance more softly, and it layers beautifully under the Libre minis for a scent that lasts through a long evening.
There are two little extras behind the doors as well, a mirror and a kabuki brush. They won’t be the reason you buy it, but the mirror slips neatly into a handbag alongside the Couture Mini Clutch, and together they turn the lip and eye pieces into a touch-up kit you can carry out for the evening.
What we’d change
Our reservations are small ones, and they’re about balance rather than quality.
With six fragrances in the box, we’d have loved one of them in a full-size bottle. The minis are a joy to try, but the calendar builds a real case for Libre, and a full bottle behind the last door would have made a memorable finale.
The mascaras, liner and lipstick mini are there to introduce you to the line rather than to last. That’s fine for a discovery calendar, but at this level we’d have liked one more everyday full size in the makeup, perhaps the Lash Clash mascara, which is already here in a midi size.

Who it’s perfect for
This is one for the YSL devotee: someone who already reaches for a Loveshine or a bottle of Libre, and would love the whole house laid out behind 24 doors. It’s also a thoughtful gift for someone who loves lip colour, since the lip pieces are where the calendar shines brightest.
It suits a fragrance explorer, too. Six scents at a comfortable trial size is a generous way to find a signature before committing to a bottle.
And it’s a lovely gift to give. The box itself does much of the work on Christmas morning, and with lip colour, fragrance and skincare all inside, there’s something for every part of their routine. Once the doors are empty, the drawers make a handsome home for the full sizes.
If your routine is built around skincare, look closely at the list first. The Or Rouge and Pure Shots pieces are lovely, but they’re minis, and makeup does most of the talking here.
