It reads like the contents of a well-loved make-up bag, the kind that has been topped up slowly with the good stuff.
It’s £120, Selfridges puts the worth at £504.50, and it’s exclusive to Selfridges. The box itself is a cheerful pop of pink and blue, which makes it an easy one to hand over as it is. The brand list is the real draw: Charlotte Tilbury, Huda Beauty, Westman Atelier, Hourglass, Laura Mercier, MAC, Elemis, Laneige and Sol de Janeiro all sit side by side, alongside a few names that are newer to the counter.

What piques our interest
Phlur Vanilla Skin is the one we’d reach for first. Phlur describes it as a woody gourmand, and it opens on pink pepper, pink apple and sugar crystals before settling into jasmine, cashmere wood and a warm base of vanilla, benzoin and sandalwood. It’s the sort of vanilla that smells like skin that has been somewhere lovely, not a bakery, and the 9.5ml bottle is small enough to live in a handbag.
It isn’t the only fragrance in the box, and that’s part of the fun. Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 68 mist is bright and fruity, with pink dragonfruit and lychee over Brazilian jasmine and a sheer vanilla musk. 2787’s Per Sé is quieter and more polished: violet leaves and pepper over orris and a soft, musky base. Three very different moods, and each one is enough to learn whether you’d like more of it.
The make-up reads like a list of things people ask about at the counter. There’s Charlotte Tilbury’s Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk Medium, a sheer, glossy berry-pink, and Huda Beauty’s Blush Filter in Strawberry Cream, a lightweight liquid blush that buffs out to a soft flush. Westman Atelier’s Lit Up Highlight Stick in Nectar gives a glassy, golden-peach glow. The Hourglass Ambient powder in Diffused Light is a soft, warm finishing veil. A MAC lip pencil in Chestnut, a Refy brow gel and a Laura Mercier Caviar Stick eyeshadow finish the look, and Morphe’s dual-ended sculpting brush handles both creams and powders.
Skincare leans towards the pampering end of the routine, which suits a beauty gift set nicely. There are three REHAB. collagen sheet masks and an MZ Skin gold eye mask for an evening in, a Laneige Cream Skin mist to spritz over make-up, and Elemis’s Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF30 for mornings. Trinny London’s Naked Ambition serum is the most grown-up piece here, a lightweight morning serum with vitamin C and azelaic acid for skin that wants brightening.
Then comes the treat we’d happily have bought on its own: the Fable & Mane Shine Hair Mask, a chai-scented gloss mask in its generous 237ml jar. Paired with the Slip silk scrunchie, it turns the haircare corner of the box into a small Sunday ritual.
What we’d change
We’d have loved a larger bottle of Phlur Vanilla Skin. It’s the scent in the box we’d most want to keep wearing, and a travel spray runs out quickly once you’ve fallen for it.
